Grandpa Friend™:

– almost always grumpy
– bad at showing affection but cares about their friends a lot
– “what did you say?”, “Sorry i didn’t hear that, can you repeat it?”
– often reminisces about their youth (even though they’re probably only in their twenties. Alternatively: “kids these days…”)

Okay but counterproposal – the Grandma Friend.

– Thinks feeding you is the solution to any problem.
– Is harder to shock than you think they are.
– Appear sweet and innocent on the outside but has surprisingly raunchy stories.
– Has so many photo albums. So many.
– Hates throwing things away because they might need them again one day.
– I cannot over-emphasize how often this friend will try to give you food.
– You’re not sure if they’re hard of hearing or just politely ignoring you. Possibly both.
– Out of touch with youth culture.
– “I don’t mean to complain, but…”
– A really great listener, but also a memory like a bear trap. Will keep your secrets forever, but they will never forget the thing you told them that one time.
