More than 2,500 walkouts were planned across the country, according to Empower, the youth branch of the Women’s March that has been organizing the event.
Participants called for stricter gun laws as they also remembered the people who lost their lives in Parkland.
Many schools accommodated the demonstration. Others didn’t allow it, encouraging students to express themselves in ways other than walking out.
Emotional labor is not the problem. It never has been. If you’re in a bad mood, or you’re having a rough day, I WANT to help you feel better. I want to fix you a hot bath and get some comfy clothes out. I want to buy you a little goodie and listen to you vent.
I enjoy doing these things.
The problem becomes when it is clear I am the only one doing these things, and doing them all of the time.

Had so much fun on our epic train journey March 19-21 🙂 We did a photo scavenger hunt which included things like cramming three people in the top bunk of a roomette, riding on luggage, and wearing a crew member’s hat. The crew on the train were so awesome and funny – they definitely helped make the trip interesting!
