2017 is the year we stop equating womanhood with vaginas and menstruation and start equating womanhood with whether or not you know how to make a quesadilla by the time you’re college-age
Blake didn’t realize they were transgender for a long time because of inadequate access to information as a Deaf person. Now they’re sharing their own story online so other Deaf trans people know they’re not alone.

Not shaving and not wearing make up are literally nonbehaviors. They’re a complete lack of action. But doing nothing is considered masculine because men are the only ones who are allowed to just be.
Not all expressions are either feminine or masculine.
Just because aspects of you (mannerisms, dress, etc.) appear feminine or masculine doesn’t mean they are.
Those traits could come from an entirely different place than masculinity or femininity. People can wrongly assign your qualities because they don’t have a conception of gender beyond the binary.
You aren’t responsible for how others categorize you. You don’t have to be masculine or feminine, especially if your gender doesn’t involve the binary.
Oh
you don’t have to be skinny to be your gender. if youre a trans girl you don’t have to be skinny to pass or to be feminine.
if you’re a trans boy you don’t have to be skinny to pass or to look like those popular trans boys.
if you’re nonbinary you don’t have to be skinny to be androgynous.
Fat/chubby/just not skinny trans/nb people are so important.
I know I usually keep things library-focused, but this is really important to me because part of why it took me so long to identify as non-binary was knowing that I’d always be fat and curvy, so what was the point? It wasn’t until I saw other fat, androgynous-looking people that I thought maybe I could do that, too.
It’s so stupid that androgynous signaling has been limited to flat chests and narrow hips. Breasts can be androgynous. Hips can be androgynous. Any body can be androgynous, because gender is not linked to body type.
the thing that always comes to me about the concept of Transtrending is … who even Cares? so what if someone turns out to be happier being cis after trying out different pronouns, different ways of thinking about them selfs or their genders? so what? who did they hurt? if a dfab person tries out they pronouns and asks for gender neutral terminology for a couple months and then says “hm, i think i am actually happiest with she pronouns, i am a cis girl” who did she hurt? she didnt hurt any one she just chilled in a different gender zone for a while.
and then what about someone who did try out different pronouns and then ended up saying “wow! this really works for me, i am so much happier with these new pronouns! i am trans!” ? they couldnt have learned that without experimenting
calling all gender exploration transtrending and acting like its some harmful or appropriative thing discourages people from exploring their genders, reinforces ideas about transness being immutable + A Condition, reinforces the idea of rigid gender roles (by saying like. people arent allowed to consider other genders for themselves in a gentle way / arent allowed to express their gender differently) and makes it way harder to figure out trans stuff bye
